A conversation with the artists on sketching as a way of moving work forward

  • Zero Station 222 Anderson Street Portland, ME, 04101 United States (map)

On a late Sunday afternoon, a group of artists get together to discuss their work and ways of ideation. Sketching can take many forms, not always linear, it can also occur by “piecing” “pairing” knolling with parts made and abandoned or parts picked up roadside or on a beach, flea market. How do ideas come to excite us then go on to form more developed work. Of the five artists in our current exhibition, four plus the curator will discuss what inspires us to make and sketch. Come participate in the conversation and learn more about the work of Eleanor Anderson, Crystal Cawley, Ingrid Ellison and Melissa Sweet. We aim for a casual salon style discussion here at the gallery.
